NZ Doc Edge honors ‘Water, Wind, Dust, Bread’

Iran's ‘Water, Wind, Dust, Bread’ is honored at the Doc Edge Festival in New Zealand.

Iranian short documentary ‘Water, Wind, Dust, Bread’ has been honored at the Doc Edge Festival in New Zealand.

The 25-minute documentary, directed by Mehdi Zamanpour-Kiasari, has been selected as the recipient of a special mention at the International Competition section of the 18th edition of the event.

The short film is a delicate narrative of the life of two children named 'Abolfazl' and 'Setayesh' who experience a different life.

'Water, Wind, Dust, Bread', which took more than a year to produce, shows life in Fahraj Village of Iran’s Yazd Province.

The film has already been shown at a number of global events, including the  Thessaloniki Documentary Festival in Greece, the Children’s Film Festival Seattle in the US, and the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, where it won the Special Jury award.

Launched in 2005, the Doc Edge Festival has been a platform to showcase international documentary movies and also docs from New Zealand to provide independent and important view of the world.

The awarding night of this year’s edition of the fest was held on June 22 at the Civic Theatre, Auckland.
